Do you think harry potter movies before the goblet of fire were the only ones that did justice to the novel?

You have to expect changes in the movies. The books are so intricate and rich with plot and characterisations and smaller storylines that it would be impossible to squeeze it all in a film. They have to make allowances and cheats to make things happen. I'm not that keen on Goblet of Fire the film myself because of many of the things you said. It irritates me at the changes. The first two Harry Potter's are most close to the book because the plots are a lot more basic compared to the other movies. However though they still have missed things out, I think that they've done very well with HP and the Deathly Hallows part 1. Having read the books and being a big fan of them I can fit in things that I know from the books, I do wonder however how well people who have only seen the movies understand what is going on.

My friend made me obese?

I know all the details because my friend confessed and told me all this yesterday. So im a guy, 15 and it basically started last year when my friend started lending me some money when I forgot my wallet so I could buy a snack from the vending machine. Then he started coming with me to the vending machine and offering to pay for my snack everyday. He then started buying me two snacks everyday even though I didn't ask and just said I could pay him back next time we went into town or something. So for a few weeks he would buy me two or three snacks everyday and needless to say the increase in calories was beginning to show. My friend said it really started when this happened as he saw me in swimming and noticed I looked chubbier. But it got worse over the next few months, he started buying me more and more snacks and with an increasing appetite and him being so nice I just happily ate. Every two weeks we would go into town to mcdonalds and he suggested an eating contest where the winner got to eat all the food and the loser had to pay for it. As I was getting bigger I always won and found myself eating 5 extra large big macs, fries, ice cream and feeling generally stuffed by the end. At school he would buy me extra snacks to take home and for the weekend in case I got hungry. When I went round to his house he always had plenty of snacks in and we always pigged out, me especially as I got bigger I began to lose control of my appetite, there was a point where I knew I was putting on weight, but I felt so hungry that I wanted more. On my birthday we spent the day in town shopping, I asked if we could get lunch and snacks but he said no, I moaned all day about how hungry I was but he said we wern't eating. Then when we got back to his house he had 3 birthday cakes, biscuits, chocolate and eclairs and said it was my birthday feast which I devoured like a pig. By new year of this year I had just hit the 200lbs mark. As of today I weight 230lbs. Yesterday was our annual yearly fitness test. Not surprisingly there was a lot to say for mine considering I can barely jog now. My teacher told me I had gained 80lbs in a year and my fitness had gone from average weight to morbidly obese. These words made me and my friend stop and think. I had been happy being overweight and he didn't mind making me fat. But when I told him I was morbidly obese and how much I weigh he said it was time to stop, he had just wanted me to get a bit fat for fun but it had got out of hand and now it had to stop. I am the unmarried mother of a 5 year old girl. I have tried to work things out with her dad i even let him move back in with us but it is not working. He speaks very negatively to me in front of her and is not nice to me which causes arguments, resentment etc. He's kind of a bum - smoke a lot of pot,he's financially irresponsible-can't pay his share of the rent much of the time and doesnt give me enough to pay other bills, has no savings no life insurance,his teeth are falling out and he is always want to take or daughter away to stay overnight at some place i am not invited to come and he gets in bed with her in the morning to tickle her which drives me crazy! In the past he has threatened me with lawyers and now he wants a mediator. We tried therapy before and he would not listen or do what was recommended. I don't want to go to a mediator i just want him to treat me respectfully in front of the child. I want to stay together because i don't want her being shuttled back and forth to god knows where with a dope smoking loser like him nor do i want joint custody. I also don't want the law in our business. Can he force me to go? What are the right of a single mother In Cali_ in Ohio where my child was born a single mother has automatic full custody unless someone takes her to court. Is it the same in Cali?

How to knock people out for two minutes or more?

Basically, I know two or three methods of knocking people out. There's the Crusher, (making someone high on oxygen then shoving their chest) the Crouching Thumb (getting high on oxygen then blowing on your thumb until you pass out), and a hefty punch to the temple. Neither are safe, obviously. I've tried all three, and so have my friends- it's just a kind of "messing-around-being-a-douche" thing. It's just fun to do it sometimes, see who can be out the longest. I know you have to be passed out for a minimum of four minutes to begin the risk of taking brain damage. Nobody we've got to do it (including ourselves) has got that far. The best we've had was around twenty seconds. Some of my friends wanna know how you do it for a bit longer, just because they like the "passing-out" feel. I guess. We normally do the Crouching Thumb method. You crouch on the floor, and breathe in and out shallowly and quickly for 30secs, until you start to feel really light headed. Then you stand up as quick as you can, jam your thumb in your mouth and blow as hard as you can until your vision fades and you pass out. Apparently breathing for longer works, we did 100secs on someone once and they were out for about half a minute- but that's about the highest it'll go, thirty seconds however long you breathe for. Is there a way to make you pass out for a bit longer? I mean, when people are injured they can sometimes pass out for an hour. We don't wanna do that, obviously, but maybe just a minute or two. There's no safe way to do it, but you know- safe-ish?

Hi Flo... You really need to let go of Loren. You may still love her, but she sounds like she's too much trouble romantically. She's dropped you what, 2 or 3 times? I know from personal experience that people can appear like they've really changed after they stopped talking to you for a while, but honestly I would not risk it because most likely they have not. She doesn't seem like a stable partner, and it doesn't seem like she cares about hurting you because she's dropped you so many times before. I am currently on my menstrual cycle and I've had really bad lightenedness and I've fainted 3 times. I was at the store and had to crouch and put my head between my knees. I feel really weak. My friend made me obese?

I know all the details because my friend confessed and told me all this yesterday. So im a guy, 15 and it basically started last year when my friend started lending me some money when I forgot my wallet so I could buy a snack from the vending machine. Then he started coming with me to the vending machine and offering to pay for my snack everyday. He then started buying me two snacks everyday even though I didn't ask and just said I could pay him back next time we went into town or something. So for a few weeks he would buy me two or three snacks everyday and needless to say the increase in calories was beginning to show. My friend said it really started when this happened as he saw me in swimming and noticed I looked chubbier. But it got worse over the next few months, he started buying me more and more snacks and with an increasing appetite and him being so nice I just happily ate. Every two weeks we would go into town to mcdonalds and he suggested an eating contest where the winner got to eat all the food and the loser had to pay for it. As I was getting bigger I always won and found myself eating 5 extra large big macs, fries, ice cream and feeling generally stuffed by the end. At school he would buy me extra snacks to take home and for the weekend in case I got hungry. When I went round to his house he always had plenty of snacks in and we always pigged out, me especially as I got bigger I began to lose control of my appetite, there was a point where I knew I was putting on weight, but I felt so hungry that I wanted more. On my birthday we spent the day in town shopping, I asked if we could get lunch and snacks but he said no, I moaned all day about how hungry I was but he said we wern't eating. Then when we got back to his house he had 3 birthday cakes, biscuits, chocolate and eclairs and said it was my birthday feast which I devoured like a pig. By new year of this year I had just hit the 200lbs mark. As of today I weight 230lbs. Yesterday was our annual yearly fitness test. Not surprisingly there was a lot to say for mine considering I can barely jog now. My teacher told me I had gained 80lbs in a year and my fitness had gone from average weight to morbidly obese. These words made me and my friend stop and think. I had been happy being overweight and he didn't mind making me fat. But when I told him I was morbidly obese and how much I weigh he said it was time to stop, he had just wanted me to get a bit fat for fun but it had got out of hand and now it had to stop. Now what do I do? I know most of you will say lose the weight but any advice?

I have been working for about a year now for a large company. The guy who interviewed me and hired me i was instantly attracted to. Just recently he has becomes our Op's manager for our floor and sits in an office close to my section. Our company is very strict on harassment sexual and mental so pretty much everyone is careful not to overstep boundaries. The last few months i have talked more to this guy and really found i like him. He is a decent person and pretty much easy to talk to if your on the same wave legnth. So basically i arrived at work at 7am and he was in his office early and it was only the 2 of us for half hour and i went in and stood chatting to him. I had just got back from OS as had he so we were chattig about travel. During the whole time of convo he looked me in the eyes while we talked as well as turned to face me slightly with his upper body and smiled a heck of a lot and laughed. He seemed happy to keep talking and it was me after half hour who said i better go do some work. A few hours later i went back in to show him some photos on my iphone that i told him i would. When i went in i crouched down next to him on the corner of his desk and started to show him pics in my phone. Ater a few pics he leant over and clenched his hand behind mine holding the phone and brushed it completely accross mine while taking it out of my hand to look at the pics. I remember thinking omg did he just really do that as to me i would think that in his position he would try and avoid touching my hand and grabbing the phone by the top or something so as not to touch me and give me the wrong idea. Such a little thing i know but i just find it weird that he would touch / hold the phone in both our hands for a couple seconds the way he did if he could just pick it up from the top as most would do. When it happened he was still leaning quite close to me while looking at pics and laughing and chatting. I asked him if he had been to asia and he said no he was waiting till he had a partner who wanted to travel to asia. So that was yesterday and when i passed him walking to his office today he just did the look up at me raise his eyebrows quite high for a second or so with a very slight smile and eye contact. He has pretty much always done the eyebrow thing since we have talked more. Whenever i have talked to him he is always smiling quite largely and 100% locked in eye contact with me. Why did my cat suddenly die?

I am completely devastated. So I went to bed around 4 am the other night and I heard a commotion in the living room. I assumed this was my two cats chasing each other like usual. I got up to see what they were doing and saw my cat Domino frantically trying to open the cupboard under the bathroom sink. He got it open and jumped in there. I crouched down to see him and noticed that he was on his side and he started twitching violently. I was going to pick him up to rush him to the animal hospital but he wouldnt stop shaking so I didnt touch him for a minute. Then his head went back and his paw twitched a few more times then he stopped moving. I started crying hysterically hoping he was not dead but I just knew. Then I noticed his eyes were wide open and he was not blinking. I literally saw the life go out of him and I knew he was dead. I cant understand why this happened. He was only 8 years old and I loved him so much. I didnt even know if he was sick the only thing out of the ordinary was that he got kind of skinny. I didnt think anything of it because his weight would fluctuate so much. I just feel so terrible I dont know if theres anything I could have done to save him. Why would a cat just suddenly die?

I got hurt wearing a fall safety harness while doing confined entry/space work on my hands and knees or crouching. My job had me doing this for 8-12 hours plus for 2 days. There was absolutely no threat of me falling anywhere being that I was working on the floor of a crude oil tank. I feel that a confined space safety system would have prevented this because that is what it is designed to do. I feel that a "Fall Safety Harness" was not the proper equipment and resulted in my injury. Anyone here know anything about this industry and can help me figure this out? Thank you!!!

Help! My parents won't let me drive!?

My Marvel vs. Capcom 3 fightpad's thumbstick is broken, can some one help me fix it?

Why do I see people that aren't there while driving at night?

Sometimes while driving at night, I see people that aren't really there. For example, there will be a fire hydrant on the side of the road, which looks nothing like a person, and I will imagine it's a person crouching there. So I found this springer spaniel, it was on the middle of a road with no owner around so I threw it's stick to get it off the road and it followed me home. While drying it I crouched down and it sat closer but it's tail was not wagging. It then lay down on me, on it's back. I don't know what this means? I dried it like this. Left it and it started crying so I sat down across from it and it came over and it lay down on me. It didnt wag it's tail though. What a very great description! You could probably describe the woman a bit more. Also, can you see the last sentence, 'Then there was a loud...'. Take out the 'Then'. It builds a tiny bit more suspense, in my opinion. Also take out the 'then' in the sentence 'Then he heard her stop...'. Other than that the whole opening is very excellent. Lower abomonan pain. Could i be pregnant?

I have a grinding sound in my knee with no pain... Suggestions?

I am only 18 years old, so I am a bit weary on the suggested 'arthritis' suggestions. I know that it is possible but I have experienced no pain at any time with my knee. It happens to only occur in my right knee. As I walk up stairs or stand on only my right leg and crouch on my knee, it creates a very audible cracking sound. However, it makes different sounds as I bend the knee than when straightening it out. When crouching down, it grinds. When standing straight back up, it grinds and seems to pop into place when I have it fully straightened. I do tend to stand with my knees hyper-extended, but as previously stated.. Sadly, you really can't. The ones you've already identified are pretty much it. You can try to find some torrent files with comics, but there are no websites that host the content straight up. The reason: Marvel is owned by Disney and DC is owned by Time-Warner, two of the biggest corporate giants in the world. They are ON TOP of making sure nobody misappropriates their stuff. It doesn't hurt that Time-Warner also controls a large part of the communication industry. There was a great website a little while ago called htmlcomics.com that hosted lots of great stuff (including X-23). Then, about a year ago the FBI literally kicked the door in, took the owner to jail and confiscated the servers. That was the end of that. They don't kid around. So, apart from the free stuff Marvel offers on its website, you'll have to resort to the old fashioned method of buying stuff.

I made a bad mistake and need some advice on it?

i'll cut to the point of this, i went to a party and got drunk, my mate (who's also a guy) went and sleeped on a mattress with my best friend (whos a chick) they didn't have sex just played, then she got out to go somewhere and i didn't have any where to sleep so i jumped in next to my mate, he, thinking i was her grabbed my leg and i told him it was me, not her, but he was drunk and ended up grabbing my chest, i shoved him off again and lay down, then he lay really close and put his hand on my hip, i couldn't be bothered shifting it so i left it there, then she came back after awhile and laughed at me then we got him cuddling up to her again...later that night i kind of woke up but i didn't really have any control, i was kind of still dreaming, anyway i was rubbing his thigh really hard and kissing his shoulder, then my hand went over his crouch a couple times, after five minutes i realized what i was doing and stopped straight away, later i woke up for a sec and we were lying on our backs and i put my arm out, and then his arm went out and tryed to hold my hand but i rolled over (we were both really drunk, him more then me) then later i woke up and i had my arm over him, so i moved it and he rolled over...in the morning i completely forgot what had happened until i saw him walking around in his shorts, it's been two days and i feel like ****, not going to school tomorrow because of it, i feel bad, im straight, but have this urge to tell him but i don't want him to hate me, i think he might know because he acts a bit weird sometimes to me now...hmmm i don't know..

I moved to this school in fifth grade. Now I'll be going into freshman year. During the summer of fifth and sixth grade I went to the school to hang out with my best friend at the time(A girl). On the way there as we passed the gas station, there was a group of the more jock-like guys, who I do not like because they were very rude and judged people A LOT. Yes, we did have jock-ish people at that time, more mild then, though. Story short- we got called losers, fatties, bitches, etc., but went on. They were there when my friend and I got to the park-school thing. They teased us, stole my water, and well, were assholes. I never wanted to see their faces, mainly his. To my surprise, he was in my 6th grade class. Well, I avoided him because of his douche-ish acts. During the year, I progressed into more of a girl.(Within 3 months) Meaning--not to be offensive-- I slimmed out and got 4 inches taller.I was really short, by the end of that I was 5' and 1 half inches. After that was over... I caught him staring at me. That went on for the rest of the school year. While we were at a week long camp(in May), he was in my group, one thing on my mind- oh joy... I told this kid who I joke around with a lot that I, jokingly, hated him, the guy who I'm asking the question about(who I'll nickname 'boy') was behind me talking to a guy. Boy then said, 'you don't hate me, right?'. Confused I said "no.. you're alright." that was odd. On the last day of school, Boy walked up to me blushing and was going to say something, but then walked away.(I know it's long, bare with me!) He has been in 4 of my classes(not including 6th grade) during the course of middle school, and has been my project partner once, and we barely talked to each other during that time, or during middle school at all. Boy still stared and sometimes blushed or smiled. I talked to my very good best friend, who is a gamer and guy, and he said he has only the slightest clue of a yes. My very few female friends say, maybe. I really do not like this guy! He is rude and keeps girlfriends for like 2 months or less. Boy also harshly dumps them 75% of the time. You don't have a lot of fat to burn but it is still good to incorporate running. You will see a difference in maybe a month. Tips to make standing a little easier?

I work in retail which means standing for hours and sometimes standing still behind a register. I always start getting pain from my lower back down to my feet. I try crouching sometimes but doesn't do much. So i would like some tips that could make it a little easier to stand for hours.

Tips on weight loss ?

I am trying to lose thirty pounds not by any certain time limit, but I am replacing two meals with slimfast, and then one normal meal a day. I also take abcuts before meals. I workout to biggest loser and other excercise dvds six days a week, plus stay on the go alot. I am not seeing any results yet though when should I start to see some and what can I do to speed up results. Im one of those people if i dont see results fast I get discouraged and think whats the point of all this hardwork. Any one got any good tips or maybe better dvds I can add to my workouts.

Why are my dreams so bizarre?

I have very vivid dreams also, I can remember everyone one of my dreams in exact detail, they have many parts and if i speak about them they're normally 5 minutes long. You're dreams are probably big because your very imaginative and creative (as am i) so you're able to push your boundries in your dreams. They may also be complex because you may have a lot of pressing issues on your mind such as weight, studying, spouses things like that. Don't worry, it's healthy to have dreams like this :D xxx

Stomach Ache?? Can't Sleep!!?

Try drinking water or Ginger ale. Sometimes plain sodas will settle your stomach. I doubt you pulled a stomach muscle if you're feeling sick. Did you eat something strange today? Maybe too much of one thing? I would personally get a light snack (crackers?) and either water or Canada dry. If you do have soda, only drink a little so you don't feel bloated. I hope this helps! Anyways there house was BEAUTIFUL! I don't think they spend responsibly, but I don't think the solution is to take away all their money. That would require defaulting on all our debt, which would crash the world economy. What I would like is for people to stop pretending we can fix the entire national debt by cutting expenses without raising revenue.

Pain in chest under left breast, Randomly...?

So I've been having chest pain for a long time now. I think it started when I was about eleven, with stomach pain and when i went to see a doctor they had told me that it was because of constipation because my bowels are messed up. i don't 'go' as much as i should, maybe a couple times a week...so the doctor put me on miralax and it kinda got better but then i started to get pain in my left side and/ or chest randomly when i was about fourteen and i wouldn't be able to really move without the pain worsening and i would have to be crouched or leaned over for it to kinda go away on it's own. it happened like when i would walk or eat fast food, and when it happened it would be hard to breathe, i would gasp for air. so when i went to the doctor they told me it was because of acid reflux issues and they put me on medication that i would take whenever this ooccurred but it didn't really help...but kinda stopped happening after i went on a special diet, you know like stopped eating fast food, fried greasy spicy, things that would cause acid reflux. but after a while i started to eat whatever and i was fine. like maybe another couple of years later it started with some mild pain under my left breast every once and a while...sometimes just when sitting and the same before, i wouldn't be able to move or take any deep breaths without the pain worsening and it go away unless it stayed kinda leaning with my hands over my chest, very still and it would gradually go away. But more recently it's been happening EVERYDAY, and it's like this gripping tight pain and it feels like my insides are just breaking. the other night when i was asleep i really thought i was dreaming because it hurt so bad. the pain just came out of nowhere and i had to hold on to myself in like a fetal position for it go away but anytime i moved it would come shooting back and i was in AGONY, and somehow after maybe 45 minutes or so , maybe because i was in and out of a dazed sleep when this was going on, it stopped when just laid on my right side and didn't move. on other days it happens when im lying down, or if im excising especially. basically it can happen when i do anything. don't drink or smoke or am on any medication. anything helps, would see a doctor but really tight on money right now. so looking for info online. im 18 yr. old female i still have constipation if that could be it....
